In April, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved DeLa Express LLC’s pre-filing request to construct a 690-mile pipeline in Texas. This approval brings the DeLa Express Project one step closer to reality, impacting many property owners along the proposed route.

The DeLa Express Project aims to produce natural gas in West Texas and transport it near Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes:

  • A 690-mile, 42-inch diameter pipeline
  • Five lateral pipelines
  • Eight compressor stations
  • Multiple meter stations
  • Various other facilities

DeLa Express is actively engaged in environmental surveys, project design, and stakeholder outreach. With final certifications expected in mid-2026 and construction anticipated to begin shortly after, the pipeline is scheduled to be operational by 2028. DeLa Express has secured survey permissions for about 36% of the proposed right-of-way, so as the project progresses, it is crucial for property owners to:

  • Understand Your Rights: Know your rights as a property owner to ensure fair treatment and compensation.
  • Document Everything: Keep detailed records of all communications, agreements, and any disruptions caused by the project.
  • Seek Legal Counsel: Contact an experienced eminent domain and condemnation attorney to help you navigate negotiations and protect your interests.

As a law firm specializing in eminent domain and condemnation, the attorneys at Barron, Adler, Clough & Oddo, PLLC recognize the substantial impact this project will have on many property owners throughout the state. By staying informed and seeking legal support, property owners can effectively manage this project’s impact on some of their most valuable assets: their land and livelihoods.
